My first normal pot roast....

Now, don't go getting all shocked. Yes, I've made pot roast....many times. But, I always make it in the crockpot. I was inspired by both my own boredom with cooking the same stuff over and over and Pioneer Woman's blog to make a traditional pot roast. I just now slipped it in the oven. It sure smells good in here. I really, really hope that it's yummy. There's nothing I hate worse than trying a new recipe and having it bomb.

In other news, I've taken the gauze off my mangled finger for a bit. I'll rewrap it before shower and bed, but I thought that letting it dry out a bit might be a good thing. It's nice to type with a naked finger! Still can't really feel the tip of it, but still...better.

You may have already noted that there are still no pictures here. I had to run out last night to the library and to Target. Shortly after returning, the rotating feverish, restless, miserable awakening children began, so I never made it down to play. Tonight, I'm staying in, though. So, I'm very, very excited to get all hooked up. Thanks, Katee for the posting tips. We'll see how I do ;o).

Oh, one more thing...if you have never watched Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations you should try it. It's on the Travel Channel. I LOVE this show! I learn so much about different cultures and regions of the world and seeing all the different cooking methods, etc is just fascinating to me. I really like Tony's style, too, so that makes it even more enjoyable. So...if you're looking for something new and different and educational during the writers' strike, try it out. Oh, it's not for young ones. There can be some harsh language and some icky stuff sometimes. Older kids would like it though, I think.
